How to open a rehabilitation center in a rural parish. Rehabilitation of drug addicted patients as a business idea. Where was the money found?

A rehabilitation center for Emergency Situations Ministry employees was opened in Sedovo. The Spasatel health complex received the first arrival of vacationers - about 100 people. The other day, the main renovation work, which lasted for several months, was completed - the building had to be restored almost from scratch.

The first wave of vacationers was greeted as family members: to the sounds of a button accordion and folk ditties, with bread, with salt - everything as it should be. They even started a new tradition.

The guests did not remain indifferent to this reception. Moreover, many people had never had a vacation organized at all before. Oleg worked as a firefighter for more than 7 years, but during all this time he never received a permit.

Natalia devoted 11 years to the dispatch service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. I came with my husband and daughter. The situation is the same: during the entire period of work, a woman with a small child did not bother to offer free vacation. Now they are planning to catch up.

The former boarding house "Horizon", which had undergone virtually no changes since 1978, had to be restored from scratch. Added to the shabby walls and broken floors was last year's hurricane, which swept away the trees in the courtyard. All this was corrected by the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. For several months they landscaped the territory, reinstalled the water supply and sewerage system, and also prepared the rooms.

At the moment, it remains to renovate the 1st and 4th floors. Valery has been here since April. Together with other rescuers, we have already completed most of the work; and everything is according to modern standards.

Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations hope that soon members of their families will rest here, on the new, renovated floors. In the meantime, the first 100 people have moved into the ready-made rooms. In turn, the staff of the rehabilitation center is already thinking about what else to surprise the guests in the future.

A former drug addict OPENED A REHABILITATION CENTER AT HOME. Today many young people die from drug addiction. The so-called “golden shot” takes 16-, 20-, and 30-year-olds. The hearts of many cannot withstand an overdose. Well, let someone say. It’s okay for evil to spread disease around the world. If we were normal people, we would have no problems, we would live happily ever after. But people, look around! A tragic mistake can happen to anyone.

33-year-old Zhmerinsk resident Konstantin, a former drug addict with 10 years of experience, talks about this.

— I got hooked on drugs in the army. Service in Azerbaijan was quite difficult. There we used them to relieve stress. Coming out of the army, I didn’t use drugs for a while and began to organize my life. But nothing worked. Out of desperation, he started injecting again. Then problems began with law enforcement officers, prison, and after a while back in bunks.

While on my second walk, I began to think about the meaning of life. Why do I live?

Business plan for a rehabilitation center

Once my friend passed away from tuberculosis. At the last moment of his life, he, an ardent atheist, began to shout: “Lord, forgive me.” Apparently, then I came to know God and became a believer.

I also suffered from a severe form of tuberculosis. And I understood that soon I would also follow my comrade. He sat on the bunk and simply said: “Lord, if you exist, then save me.” And the changes began. I wanted to live, I wanted to do something in this life and be useful, but the disease progressed. What is the treatment in the zone? Then I said: “Lord, if you need my life, it is Yours, and if not, it is Your will.”

I left the zone as a 2nd group disabled person. I wanted to make myself a pension. But when I started going through the commission and did fluorography, the doctor said that I did not have tuberculosis. And to this day I don’t remember what kind of disease it was. Life began to change before our eyes.

I set myself the goal of creating my own rehabilitation center for drug addicts. A friend from the organization “Social Service for Youth” suggested working on a special program for drug addicts. Worked as a volunteer. I understood that many drug addicts do not want to be treated, so the desire to be free from drugs is momentary. When a drug addict is “high”, he realizes that he needs treatment, he needs to change his life. And when he “breaks”... for the sake of the next dose, he is ready for anything.

While working as a volunteer, I had to send drug addicts to rehabilitation centers. But, as it turned out, there are not enough places in the centers. Many patients ask: “Please take...”. They are asked to wait three months because there are no places now. But for a drug addict, three months is an eternity.

Then I thought: what, how can I take them to my home? At this intermediate stage - between the needle and the rehabilitation center. Now there are two people undergoing rehabilitation like this in my apartment.

According to Konstantin, he doesn’t take everyone home. To get into it, you must really strive to break with the past forever. Those who want to be cured live as full-fledged members of the family. When they start to feel withdrawal symptoms, Konstantin tries to keep them busy. Another very effective medicine is prayer.

Konstantin's experience proved that there were not as many Kumari drug addicts in his house as in other months. By the second day they were sleeping like babies. On the third day they already feel great. And doctors say that the third day of withdrawal is the “peak”.

“God helps everyone who wants it,” says Konstantin. “If a drug addict seeks purity within himself, strives to achieve his goal, and finds the meaning of his life, he will succeed.”

By the way, Konstantin is now the director of the public association “Center for Municipal Development”. It is this center that runs the Harm Reduction program, which is aimed at combating drug addiction as a disease. Together with Kostya, trainings in schools and other educational institutions are conducted by experienced psychologist Tatyana Kovalchuk. They cooperate with the Vinnytsia Public Congress “Persistence”. So, if you really want it, everything will work out.

20 years “on drugs”

“Over the course of 20 years of drug addiction, I tried to quit it hundreds of times. I told myself that I was not a weakling. I thought I would crush my “kumar” with vodka. He was treated in drug clinics several times. But nothing worked. After them I could only last a month or two. It seemed like I was living in Hell on earth, from which there was no way out. I have repeatedly wanted to take the “golden injection”. But, obviously, God still needed me, because in 2003 I met Kostya. He assured me that drug addiction was not just my problem and that he wanted to help me overcome it. I ended up at the Municipal Development Center. There, I learned how the problems of pins and HIV-infected people are solved in Europe. I was convinced that drug addiction was curable, and that we were treated like people. During the period of my rehabilitation in the Kostik family, I really wanted to live differently. Not a single pill. Only love, understanding, and support could change me and my sister.

Social rehabilitation

Social practices implemented by the Foundation for Support of Children in Difficult Life Situations

Preparing disabled children and children with limited health capabilities for independent living

Disability for a child is a serious challenge that leaves an imprint on his entire life. It influences the formation of habitual life stereotypes, the social status of the individual, the development of a system of social contacts, and barriers appear to the fulfillment of the most important biological and social needs.
Children's disabilities significantly limit their life activities and lead to social maladjustment, which is caused by disturbances in their development and growth, loss of control over their behavior, as well as the ability to self-care, movement, orientation, learning, communication, and work in the future. Gaining social experience for disabled children and including them in the existing system of social relations requires additional measures and funds. The development of these measures should be based on knowledge of the patterns, objectives, and essence of the process of social rehabilitation.
Rehabilitation programs for disabled children and children with limited health capabilities should be focused on developing the child’s personality and preparing him for independent life in society. Therefore, the priority task of rehabilitation programs is the formation of functional abilities in the child, the development of new skills in such areas as obtaining and applying knowledge, communication, mobility, interpersonal interaction, self-care and everyday life, play, and fulfilling requirements.
This area of activity is supported by the Fund for Support of Children in Difficult Life Situations (hereinafter referred to as the Fund), in 2012-2014. was developed within the framework of the programs of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Komi Republic, the Trans-Baikal Territory, the Belgorod, Vologda, Kurgan, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod, Penza, Ryazan, Smolensk regions (programs of the Foundation “I can live independently” and “The right to be equal”). The target groups are disabled children and children with disabilities raised in families, as well as disabled children raised in boarding schools.
One of the areas of this activity is the introduction of programs for social and everyday orientation of disabled children and children with limited health capabilities on the basis of institutions of the social protection system and education.
For example, in the Republic of Khakassia, on the basis of the State Institution of the Russian Federation "Republican boarding house for mentally retarded children" Teremok ", a training apartment is equipped to prepare children for independent living. The training apartment has furniture and household appliances, which allows students to be immersed in an independent life for a certain period space, develop vital skills and self-service skills.
In the Republic of Bashkortostan, a department for social rehabilitation and social adaptation of children with mental disabilities, including those living in families, has been created on the basis of the Serafimovsky Orphanage-Boarding Home for Mentally Retarded Children. The department has a utility room, sewing and knitting workshops. While living in the department, disabled children master accessible self-care skills, practical activities, sewing and knitting skills. Parents of children are given practical recommendations on the development of the child’s individual capabilities and his adaptation in the social environment. This work helps to solve emerging acute family problems, overcome the isolation of disabled children and families; is an effective tool in implementing the tasks of preventing the abandonment of children with disabilities.
In the Ryazan region, on the basis of the State Budgetary Institution "Center for Social Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons" in 2012, with the support of the Foundation, a rehabilitation training department was opened for families raising disabled children. The main objectives of the department are to provide social rehabilitation services to disabled children (services for social and everyday adaptation, socio-environmental and socio-cultural rehabilitation, as well as rehabilitation by means of physical culture and sports) in accordance with the recommendations of individual rehabilitation programs; working with families raising children with disabilities.
In the Nizhny Novgorod region, as part of the regional program “I can live independently,” in three orphanages for mentally retarded children, the diagnostic component in the system of rehabilitation work with disabled children was strengthened (rehabilitation and diagnostic laboratories were created) in order to comprehensively assess the rehabilitation potential of disabled children and forming a group of children with sufficient potential for independent living in society. This work is based on the Longitude software package with the inclusion of a specialized block additionally developed jointly with St. Petersburg State University for recording the volumes, timing and results of habilitation activities, as well as for conducting various kinds of automated sampling in the areas of habilitation. The implementation of diagnostic measures in all three institutions is carried out by members of a multiprofessional team: a defectologist, a psychologist, a speech therapist, a social work specialist, a social teacher, and an exercise therapy instructor. Based on the results, individual rehabilitation programs for children have been developed and are being implemented, including preparation for independent living.
In the Trans-Baikal Territory since 2008

The technology “Social support for pupils of an orphanage during the period of their adaptation to independent living and graduates of the Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky orphanage for mentally retarded children in their place of compact residence” is being implemented. In order to prepare the pupils of this institution for independent living in the Trans-Baikal Territory, from 2009 to 2011, with co-financing from the Fund for Support of Children in Difficult Life Situations, the “Road to Life” program was carried out. The result of the program was the development of a social village - a place of compact residence for young disabled people - graduates of an orphanage for mentally retarded children. Graduates of this institution who have the potential for independent living, but with unstable work motivation and not fully developed self-care skills, undergo adaptation to independent living in rural areas. Subsequently, having completed an individual adaptation course in a rural settlement, graduates of the orphanage, taking into account the conclusion of the psychological, medical and pedagogical council on the possibility of independent living and, if they have their own desire, purchase residential buildings in the rural settlement (or order the construction of a house) and remain there for a long time. permanent residence. Social support for young disabled people is provided by the Veteran comprehensive social service center, since at the initial stage young people need supervision, help and support from adults. Specialists (local social work specialist, psychologist, medical worker) go to the village at least twice a week, and labor instructors (cooking, housekeeping, carpentry) work in the village on a rotational basis (for one week). Under the guidance of instructors, young disabled people prepare food, maintain order in their living quarters, do housekeeping, prepare firewood for the winter, grow vegetables, and spend their leisure time (all graduates are employed).
GSUSO "Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky orphanage-boarding school for mentally retarded children" also has its own premises in the village and during the year, according to a certain program, takes out pupils (groups of 3 to 7 people) for adaptation. During the adaptation period, children live in the village with a teacher from an orphanage. In the period from 2009 to 2014, 90 boarding house pupils underwent adaptation in the conditions of a rural settlement, of which 35 people were adapted to independent living conditions. In the future, it is planned to increase the number of houses to 15, create additional jobs: open a sewing workshop, a hairdresser, and develop a subsidiary farm.
An analysis of the practice of implementing regional programs and projects in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation shows the presence of sustainable results of social partnership, including the effective implementation of a number of innovations.
For example, successful regional experience in the use of modular equipment (motor towns, etc.) within the framework of programs for social-environmental orientation and adaptation to the environment of disabled children served as the basis for the development and implementation of a new project of the Foundation.
Partner charity project "To movement without restrictions!" was developed by the Foundation for Supporting Children in Difficult Life Situations, and since 2012 has been implemented with the financial support of Kia Motor RUS LLC. The goal of the project is to assist in creating conditions for carrying out activities for the social and environmental rehabilitation of children with disabilities and children with disabilities in institutions for disabled children, children and adolescents with disabilities of the social protection system and in special (correctional) educational institutions .
Target groups - disabled children and children with disabilities under the age of 18 (brought up in boarding institutions for disabled children of the social protection system; students brought up in special (correctional) educational institutions, including special (correctional) educational institutions ) general education boarding schools; receiving social rehabilitation services in non-stationary social service institutions (rehabilitation centers) for children and adolescents with disabilities).
The objectives of the project are:
— creation in basic institutions of specialized development sites (car playground plus play complex) for carrying out activities for the social and environmental rehabilitation of children of target groups and classrooms (auto classes) for conducting classes on safe behavior of children on the roads;
— increasing mobility and ensuring the safety of children of target groups by instilling in them the skills of safe behavior when moving, playing, and driving on the road;
— assistance in the development and implementation in practice of basic institutions of development programs aimed at increasing the physical activity of children, preventing injuries, teaching safe behavior during games and movement on the road, their socio-psychological rehabilitation as participants in the movement process;
— assistance in conducting events to exchange experience in the field of social and environmental rehabilitation of children of target groups for specialists of institutions of the social protection system and educational institutions using the capabilities of specialized development sites and auto classes.
Specialized development sites and auto classes are equipped with equipment and vehicles, are built into the infrastructure of basic institutions and have multifunctional capabilities for use in the process of social rehabilitation of disabled children and children with limited health capabilities.
In 2012, 6 specialized development sites were opened in the Novosibirsk, Rostov, Nizhny Novgorod regions, Khabarovsk and Stavropol territories.

Business plan of the Verkhnevolzhsky Rehabilitation Center

Over three years, 30 cities from 28 constituent entities of the Russian Federation have been involved in the implementation of the project.
The project helps strengthen interdepartmental cooperation. The executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, partners and dealers of the Kia Motor RUS company participate in joint work with the Fund.
The project received recognition from parents and specialists, winning the nomination of the national program "Best Social Projects in Russia."
As part of the project implementation, the following is achieved:
— increasing the number of children from target groups with whom classes on social and environmental rehabilitation were conducted at specialized development sites and in auto classes;
— development of the rehabilitation potential of disabled children and children with limited health capabilities through participation in classes, a higher level of their integration into society, including as road users;
— improving conditions in basic institutions to solve the problem of improving the system of social rehabilitation, including social and environmental rehabilitation, for disabled children and children with disabilities;
— a positive impact on the formation in society of a positive attitude towards disabled children, children with limited health capabilities, including as participants in the movement process.
Thanks to the project, disabled children and children with limited health abilities have the opportunity, while riding electric cars and bicycles, including specialized ones, to feel the joy of movement, to practice the rules of safe behavior on the road in conditions that are as close as possible to real ones: the sites have sidewalks, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, road signs and even models of schools, houses, and public transport stops.
Autoclass allows them to study the rules of the road, simulate various situations on the road, and practice driving a car on the “Schoolboy” children's driving simulator. The created facilities are used as a base for conducting classes with children from other institutions.
The introduction of vocational guidance and pre-vocational training programs is the most important area in the overall system of preparing disabled children and children with limited health capabilities for independent living.
In 2013-2014 The Fund for Supporting Children in Difficult Life Situations, with the financial support of LLC Management Company "Metalloinvest", has begun implementing the charitable partnership project "Start in Life", aimed at developing the competitiveness of graduates of boarding schools.
In the Orenburg region, this project is being implemented on the basis of the GBS(K)OU for students and pupils with disabilities “Special (correctional) general education boarding school in Novotroitsk”.
The project includes the following areas:
— development and implementation of vocational guidance and pre-professional training programs for students and graduates (including vocational diagnostic programs);
— introduction of the pre-professional training program for pupils “Road to the World” and expansion of the list of professions mastered by pupils of the institution;
— development and implementation of comprehensive socialization programs (“Social Living Room”), within the framework of which programs for providing psychological assistance to students are implemented (solving communication problems, solving current problems, resolving conflicts); personal growth trainings are conducted; classes are conducted aimed at developing the creative abilities and communication skills of students; Mentoring programs are being introduced.
In the Nizhny Novgorod region, on the basis of the Nizhny Novgorod regional public organization for the support of children and youth with disabilities "Veras", pre-professional workshops are equipped and operate: "Printing", "Wood painting", "Papier-mâché", "Plant growing", "Ceramics" , "Felting wool". In 2013, 29 disabled children studied in the workshops. Similar workshops have been created in a number of social service institutions in the Nizhny Novgorod region. For example, on the basis of the State Budgetary Institution "Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities of the Gorodetsky District" an integrated printing workshop has been created, in which disabled children and children with disabilities, their healthy peers - students of secondary schools, take part; Students of the Pedagogical College provide all possible assistance on a voluntary basis. The work is aimed at teaching how to perform accessible operations of the printing production process. Moreover, this activity is associated with active creative work. For example, classes are held for children to prepare mini-brochures with their own recipes for cooking, describing algorithms for performing various household chores, etc. This stimulates a great desire to realize their capabilities, since children understand the significance and importance of their work when creating works. Children's self-esteem, emotional background and motivation increase. In the course of joint work in a creative workshop, the process of social integration of disabled children into the environment of healthy peers is improved, and the psychological barrier in communication between disabled children is overcome. During classes in the workshop, children also make illustrated calendars, postcards, notebooks, teaching aids for classes, souvenirs and other products.
In the Ulyanovsk region in 2013

work began on the creation of a resource center for habilitation and rehabilitation of disabled children at the municipal budgetary educational institution of additional education for children “Center for additional education for children No. 9”. The institution has four workshops (pottery, bookbinding, wicker weaving, photography studio), in which 40 disabled children study.
A significant role in the programs and projects supported by the Foundation is given to the implementation of rehabilitation programs using technologically advanced rehabilitation equipment. For example, within the framework of the Astrakhan region program for the rehabilitation of children with disabilities, specialized equipment was purchased: a plantar support load simulator “Corvit”, a crawling support “Turtle”, verticalizers “Kitten” and “Actival”, etc. This equipment allows for maximum recovery functions of standing and walking, normalize coordination control of movements of various classes in the complex rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy; practice crawling skills in children with various pathologies; also makes it possible to assume a vertical position with support from the back and front. The use of the Atlant neuro-orthopedic suit as a method of kinesitherapy in medical-conductive rehabilitation allows improving the physiological state, the ability to move, maintain a posture, differentiated movements, and speech. A positive effect of restoration of motor functions is observed in 50% of cases.

Activities of a psychologist at a rehabilitation center for the disabled

Introduction (excerpt)

One of the pressing problems of our society is the social rehabilitation of elderly people with disabilities. Today, people with disabilities belong to the most socially vulnerable category of the population. Their income is well below average and their health and social care needs are much higher. Disability is not a problem of one person, or even a part of society, but of the whole society as a whole. Its essence lies in the legal, economic, production, communication, and psychological characteristics of the interaction of disabled people with the outside world. Limitation of a person’s life activity is expressed in the complete or partial loss of his ability to carry out self-care, movement, orientation, communication, and control over his behavior.
The Russian Federation is a social state whose policy is aimed at creating conditions that ensure a decent life and free development of people. The state, ensuring the social protection of disabled people, is called upon to create for them the necessary conditions for individual development, the realization of creative and productive opportunities and abilities by taking into account their needs in relevant government programs, providing social assistance in the forms provided for by law in order to eliminate obstacles to the implementation of health rights by disabled people , labor, housing and other socio-economic rights.
The purpose of the course work is to develop a project for the creation of a day rehabilitation department for persons with disabilities on the basis of the State Educational Institution “Comprehensive Center for Social Services for the Population of Krasnoturinsk”.
Based on the goals set, the following tasks can be formulated:
conduct a situation analysis (pre-project analysis);
to formulate the project concept;
mobilize project resources;
consider the stages of project implementation
justify the stages of project monitoring.
The object of the study is the State Educational Institution “Comprehensive Center for Social Services for the Population of Krasnoturinsk”.
The subject of the study is project management for the creation of a rehabilitation center.

Main part (excerpt)

The state educational institution “Comprehensive Center for Social Services for the Population of Krasnoturinsk” (KTSSON) is a comprehensive institution for social services for citizens, families, and children in difficult life situations.
CCSON provides social, social, medical, socio-psychological, psychological, pedagogical, socio-legal services and material assistance, carries out social adaptation and rehabilitation of citizens, families and children.
The center has three branches:
social services at home for elderly and disabled citizens;
emergency social services department;
advisory department.
The administration of the city of Krasnoturinsk set the goal of creating a day rehabilitation department for persons with disabilities on the basis of the State Educational Institution “Comprehensive Center for Social Services for the Population of Krasnoturinsk”.
Based on Article 9 of the Federal Law “On Social Protection of Disabled Persons in the Russian Federation” dated November 24, 1995 N 181-FZ, the main directions of rehabilitation of disabled people are:
restorative medical measures, reconstructive surgery, prosthetics and orthotics, spa treatment;
vocational guidance, training and education, assistance in employment, industrial adaptation;
social-environmental, socio-pedagogical, socio-psychological and sociocultural rehabilitation, social and everyday adaptation;
physical education and health activities, sports.

Conclusion (excerpt)

As a result of the work carried out, a number of main conclusions can be drawn.
The implementation of the proposed project will solve the problem of creating a day rehabilitation department for people with disabilities on the basis of the State Educational Institution “Comprehensive Center for Social Services for the Population of Krasnoturinsk”.
The problem of implementing the proposed project is caused by the fact that at the moment a specialized institution for the rehabilitation of disabled people has not been organized in the city of Krasnoturinsk.

Possible failure to solve the problem may lead to further isolation of people with disabilities in society, deterioration of health, decrease in their self-esteem, and an increase in suicides among people with disabilities.
The purpose of organizing a day rehabilitation department for persons with disabilities is to provide medical and social assistance services in an inpatient setting to persons with disabilities.
Achieving this goal can be achieved by solving the following tasks:
formation of the material and technical base of the department;
attracting financial sources for the functioning of the department;
resolving personnel issues.
On the basis of this department the following will be carried out:
1) comprehensive diagnostic examination:
2) physiotherapy department.
A functional management structure is used to implement the project.
The critical path length of this project is 55 days.
The total cost of implementing the project will be 4506.3 thousand rubles.
The social effect of the project implementation is expressed in increasing the efficiency of the work of municipal authorities on issues of social protection of persons with disabilities.

Entrepreneur, director of the Tyumen development center “Steps” for children with speech problems Marina Bakulina told MN about the work of her center, about the meeting with Medvedev, and also explained why children are increasingly making mistakes in dictations.

The children's development center "Steps" has been operating since 2004. It helps children from four months to ten years with various speech therapy problems, and also deals with the prevention of speech disorders in children. Children with disabilities study together with children with normal development in groups: reading, mathematics, drawing, physical education and sand therapy. The head of the center, Marina Bakulina, became a laureate of the annual “Impulse of Good” award, taking third place in the category “For personal contribution to the development of social entrepreneurship.”

You may be social, but you are an entrepreneur. Have you always wanted to earn money rather than work for someone else?

I have a philological education - I am a teacher of Russian language and literature. I worked at school for a year, then I wanted to go into business. When I was studying at the university, I worked as a counselor in the Tyumen camp “Children's Republic”, where there were shifts for children with disabilities. There I learned what cerebral palsy is in practice. Then I also worked with deaf and mute children. In general, I was very interested in this topic. My sister is a speech therapist, she worked with the hearing impaired. We both became so close to this topic that, having joined forces and written several projects, we began to work on it. In 2004, our private center was created (it must be said that there were no private centers in Tyumen at that time). Now we are engaged in the prevention of speech therapy disorders - this is our specialty. For us, reading and mathematics come through singing.

- Are there many children with speech therapy disorders now?

- Unfortunately, quite a lot. According to statistics, in my opinion, today every second child is a speech pathologist (logopathy is a state of speech insufficiency with normal hearing - note, “MN”). Spelling errors are a consequence of the fact that the speech therapist did not work with the children on time, did not give them a phonemic hearing, did not correct all violations. Hence the illiterate speech and mistakes in dictations. Accordingly, all this needs to be prevented. There are also a lot of babies born by caesarean section who are more likely to be logopathic. Most likely, they will receive a speech therapy diagnosis at the age of three.

- Who helped you with your work? You were a simple teacher, and suddenly - your own business...

In addition to my sister, there is also a mother and father. They started working with me at the center from the very beginning. It turned out to be such a family business. True, dad has now changed his field of activity.

-Where did you find the money?

I took out a regular consumer loan to renovate my apartment (laughs), because they wouldn’t give it any other way. But that was a long time ago, in 2004, when banks didn’t work with entrepreneurs, there wasn’t even anywhere to get advice. At that time I had no idea about taxes or anything else. There were difficulties with this too - it’s always difficult to find a good person who will do your accounting and prepare all the reports correctly. There were big personnel problems, because the teachers working in the municipal series are not client-oriented, so it is very difficult to select people. This is now a service, everyone is talking about it. This was not the case a few years ago. Are people from the public sector as usual with us? - they bark and don’t talk (laughs), so it was hard to find staff. Now we have a fund for supporting entrepreneurs - this is good: there is always someone to turn to. And young entrepreneurs are luckier, because there are already programs where you can come and ask for something, right down to submitting reports to the tax office.

What is the ratio of teachers’ salaries in your center and in other preschool institutions in the Tyumen region?

Our salaries have always been much higher than in state kindergartens, so people came to us with pleasure, despite our strict selection of people - thirty people come, you choose only one person. We cannot predict what will happen next. If there is an increase in salaries, it means that we will also increase, because we have a slightly different approach, different clients and we need to match our level.

- Tell me, is a socially responsible business successful?

Yes, we fully pay for ourselves, our center makes a profit. We have the opportunity to buy additional equipment, computers. I won’t say, of course, that it is as profitable as trading or anything else. But, nevertheless, it is possible to live and develop. You can open branches, but for this, naturally, you will need to attract additional resources: either take out loans or look for an investor. We periodically participate in various competitions and receive grants (the amounts, however, are small).

- You seem to have even secured a meeting with Dmitry Medvedev?

It was a long time ago (laughs). It all started in 2008, when I made a proposal to legalize private kindergartens and centers, first with the head of the city, then with the governor. Then they invited me to the president. Our business was not regulated: there was no legal framework, no laws, no SanPiNs for us. Ultimately, we succeeded in being included in the education law. This was very important because parents were no longer afraid to come to us and bring their children. We introduced all this at a meeting with D.A. Medvedev. And the practical result was that six months later, Sanitary Regulations and Regulations were prepared and approved for us.

- Would you like to get involved in politics yourself?

The question is very difficult. I don’t know, I’m not ready to answer it yet, because it’s a very big responsibility. Now I am already doing social work. Maybe in a little while I'll think about it. My goal is simply to be useful. If this means getting involved in politics, then, apparently, there will be no other option. I don’t want to purposefully engage in politics - only if it is necessary for business.

Orthodoxy provides considerable assistance in the fight against alcoholism in Russia. Some monasteries and churches have created special centers where psychological rehabilitation of alcoholics, spiritual cleansing and the return of a person to a sober life are carried out. Believers seek such help. Sometimes for them this is the last hope to get rid of alcoholism.

Unable to resist drinking alcohol after traditional treatment in a clinic and coding, a person may not want to go there again, and the medications may no longer work on him. In this case, if a sincere desire to get rid of alcoholism remains, then he should turn to such a center in order to trust the will of God.

What are the advantages of this method

Rehabilitation centers bring together small groups of people who want to cleanse their souls, repent before God and quit their destructive passion for alcohol forever. The support of loved ones with whom the center is in active contact plays an important role. Relatives and alcoholics themselves have real hope that their stay in the monastery will not be in vain, since the following prerequisites are created for this:

  • An alcoholic finds himself in a completely different environment, far from the usual one. There are people next to him with the same problem;
  • He receives great moral support, since the Orthodox people around him treat him without contempt, as an equal. Here, alcoholism is considered an infection that has captured a person against his will; faith in the limitless possibilities of God’s will can defeat it;
  • Rehabilitation, depending on the stage of alcohol dependence, can last several weeks or months. A person can stay here until he completely gets rid of his addiction. If desired, he can stay at home and come here at the appointed time. In most cases, rehabilitation is carried out with accommodation in a monastery. This gives the alcoholic's family an opportunity to take a break from the nightmares associated with his alcoholism;
  • Treatment is carried out in a humane, gentle way, without the use of violence against the individual. One of the methods of beneficial effects on the patient is occupational therapy. A person is engaged in specific useful work: he takes care of the garden, makes some souvenirs, sews work clothes - he is useful. His outlook on life changes, interest in something not related to drinking appears;
  • He meets people who have already been cured. Their positive example gives him strength to continue treatment. He has the opportunity to see the advantages of a sober life compared to drunkenness.

Arriving at a rehabilitation center, a person gets the opportunity to open his soul to the monks who are interested in him becoming human again. Thus, he can understand for himself when and how his fall occurred. He has the opportunity to understand his behavior and relationships with loved ones. If he repents, he will no longer be able to return to a harmful, dangerous and sinful habit.

In what cases do people turn to church for healing from alcoholism?

Alcoholism is a serious illness associated with physical destruction of organs and mental changes in personality. Treatment in neurological clinics is aimed at removing the toxin, which is alcohol, from the body, removing the alcoholic from binge drinking, eliminating concomitant diseases, and coding.

In the temple, of course, he cannot receive all this, but people go there in order to:

  • Undergo rehabilitation, consolidate the results achieved by drug treatment in order to finally get rid of addiction;
  • Rely on the will of God and the selfless help that Orthodox people will provide him if his own will has already completely dried up. He believes that here they will understand him, sympathize and help him if he repents;
  • If he believes that God will help him cope with alcohol addiction without drugs, hypnosis and coding.

Such treatment can only be successful if a person comes to such a center himself, with the sincere intention of quitting drinking forever.

How treatment for alcoholism is carried out in monasteries and churches

When entering a rehabilitation center, a person, first of all, becomes spiritually enlightened, gets acquainted with examples from the lives of saints who managed to defeat the “green serpent” and return to a righteous life. For example, they talk about the life of Saint Boniface, who overcame his craving for alcohol, repented before God and devoted all his strength to the fight for the salvation of people who had become involved with alcohol. Prayers are said to this saint with a request to intercede for alcoholics and save them from sin.

They also pray before the icons of the Mother of God:

  • “Joy to all who mourn”;
  • "Recovery of the dead";
  • "Inexhaustible Chalice."

Social rehabilitation of alcoholics is carried out by involving them in collective work.

Treatment using the 12-step system

One of the most popular methods used by such centers when providing treatment for alcoholism is the “12 steps” system. According to this system, treatment should go through the following stages:

  1. Agreeing with the fact that a person has no other way but to turn to God, he himself is powerless to overcome the illness;
  2. Complete trust in God's will, the conviction that only in God can he hope;
  3. Committing your life to God's will;
  4. Assurance of God in a sincere desire to confess all sins committed in life, a request to God to strengthen spiritual strength before confession;
  5. Performing the ritual of confession before a spiritual mentor;
  6. Deliberate mental preparation for the renunciation of one’s vices, a willingness to trust the Holy Spirit, who shows him the way to peace;
  7. Contacting him with a request for help and relief from addiction;
  8. Receiving forgiveness from those harmed by his drunken behavior;
  9. Reconciliation with loved ones;
  10. Daily repentance for sins, if they were committed;
  11. Appeal with prayer to God and the Most Holy Theotokos;
  12. The emergence of the ability to show mercy and selfless help to those who need it. This means that a spiritual rebirth of the individual has occurred. Having been in such a center, a person will no longer be able to return to past sins.

Such treatment allows a person to return to society, to his family.

Features of treatment in rehabilitation centers

Treatment in Orthodox rehabilitation centers is free of charge. A big role is given to communication with relatives of an alcoholic. Often they need no less emotional support after many years of trials that they had to go through because of a husband or son suffering from alcohol addiction. The main condition for recovery is complete trust in spiritual mentors, a sincere desire to be cured and obedience to the will of God.

You can find out by phone what conditions do patients who go to rehabilitation centers live in, how treatment is carried out, how and when you can come for help. The priests will willingly and in detail advise relatives on any issues they encounter if there is an alcoholic in the family.

Here, for example, is what the rehabilitation program is like at the Orthodox Center “Resurrection” at the Church of Cyril and Methodius of the Belgorod diocese.

  • At the first stage, interviews are conducted with patients and their relatives to find out the stage of the disease, previous treatment, and the patient’s desire to be treated for addiction.
  • The patient is being treated in a hospital at the church.
  • A person who has undergone rehabilitation lives for some time in a social hotel before returning home. Here he communicates with similarly cured people and gets used to life in society.

When leaving the center, a person has the right to lifelong support from the center’s employees, who themselves were once healed in this temple.

Archpriest Dionisy Puchnin, head of the Department of Social Ministry and Charity of the Mariinsky Diocese and head of the Orthodox Rehabilitation Center "Zeledeevo"

The parish has few funds and does not have enough people, but is there a need to begin rehabilitation of drug addicts or alcoholics? Where to begin? Archpriest Dionisy Puchnin, who has been heading a successful rehabilitation center in the small Siberian village of Zeledeevo for 8 years, shared his experience during the online seminar.

Rural parishes usually lack funds and lack people. What to do if there is a need to engage in rehabilitation of alcoholics or drug addicts? How to choose a house for the center, where to get funds, where to recruit employees, what is the role of the priest in the center and what is the place of worship in rehabilitation - priest Dionisy Puchnin, head of the Department of Social Ministry and charity of the Mariinsky diocese and head of the Orthodox rehabilitation center "Zeledeevo".

The rehabilitation center in the village of Zeledeevo has existed since the spring of 2007. The new rector of the rural church, transferred here from the city parish, at first thought to engage primarily in works of mercy and work with youth. He had no idea to rehabilitate drug addicts. “I thought that I would work with children, as in the city: I would open a Sunday school. I never thought about working with drug addicts,” - Father Dionysius says.

His opinion was changed by an incident that happened to a fellow villager he knew. The priest found out that he was a drug addict, but then he left for Tomsk and went to a sectarian center for rehabilitation. When he returned, he said that he would open a similar center in a neighboring city.

“Conversations with this man convinced me that it was necessary to take a closer look at the problem of rehabilitation, and our meetings convinced him of the need to repent and return to the Orthodox Church,” - Archpriest Dionisy Puchnin continues.

Together they began to study various rehabilitation programs and went to a rehabilitation center in Novosibirsk. After some time, we managed to buy a house in a nearby village. The newly created center acquired two more assistants.

With the blessing of the bishop, he began working with rehabilitators. The house was bought 1 km away, away from the highway. It was both cheaper and more secluded. However, according to the leader of the seminar, due to the distance from the temple, the new center lacked the constant participation of a priest in its work.

Father Dionysius went for training to the village of Sapernoye, Leningrad Region, where Archpriest Sergius Belkov has been rehabilitating drug addicts for ten years. “It was his program that we took as a role model. We needed rehabilitation activities that would be carried out without the involvement of specialists. Not because I deny their help. Just the opposite. It’s just that we live in a remote village, where there isn’t even a paramedic, and finances don’t allow us to attract outside specialists,” says Father Dionisy.

Father Dionysius began working on the Abode of Healing program. Within a month, the rehabilitation center was moved directly to the temple grounds. As the center's founder notes, the situation quickly improved. At first, the center provided rehabilitation for both alcohol and drug addicts, but over time this practice was abandoned. The center began to specialize in helping drug-addicted youths.

“This is due to the fact that - explains Father Dionysius, - that we discovered mutual hostility between alcoholics and drug addicts. Each of them considers his illness less shameful than that of others.”

However, a new problem has arisen - personnel: “My assistants stayed with me for a while, but after about a year and a half they dropped out. I was left alone. I had to check discipline, even at night. And kick them out, for example, for smoking. For a year and a half I worked at the center alone. Then the first helpers appeared from among the students themselves, who wanted to help their brothers.”

Initially, the center existed on donations from parishioners of a rural church. “When we started the rehabilitation process, we didn’t have a penny to our name. - Father Dionysius says. - The temple is rural, and you can’t rely on its budget. I began bringing food and asking parishioners to buy it to help drug addicts. The parishioners received this with great enthusiasm and even began to bring food themselves. Then we planted a vegetable garden.”

During the entire operation of the center, the rehabilitators provided full care for themselves. Until recently, when a cook appeared, they cooked their own food.

During the seminar, a film about the life of the center's students was shown. “I expected that I would be cured here, that I would leave and live my old life, without using drugs, but also without faith. It turned out differently, I changed forever. The second stage in the center after rehabilitation is training. Without churching it is impossible to avoid mistakes, crises are repeated. Yes, it’s impossible to do without them, because you begin to pull out all the dirt from yourself, get rid of it,” - says one of them.

“It is important to build new relationships with other people, with yourself and with God during the rehabilitation period,” - says Father Dionysius.

Archpriest Dionisy Puchnin notes that it is important to be in contact with a professional who could help with practical advice. For him, Archpriest Sergius Belkov became such a person. Today, the center in Zeledeevo itself organizes conferences on the rehabilitation of drug addicts in Yurga.
